About our Recycled Glass

Our 100% Recycled Glass candle holders are ecologically friendly and fair trade. They are made by a Coop in Spain, which means the company is owned by the workers. They are paid according to European community standards, have access to medical care and have a voice in the company. They rescue old bottles and recycle them into these beautiful green glass candle holders. Their mission is to respect the environment through recycling.

Refill Rules and Information

Qualifying containers must be clean and ready to refill upon arrival for discount. 10% refill discount applies to current prices only, and is available only for those containers that do not have Drop-In Refills. You will receive a Refill Form with your new container candle. Fill out the form and send it back with your empty container. We will send a PayPal invoice to your e-mail address confirming we have received your container for refill. Be sure to check your Spam or Bulk mail box a week after sending your package.

These glass containers could be used for a number of things when your candle burns out. They make beautiful desk accessories. It would be sad to see these get recycled again when they were made with such purpose by a Coop in Spain whose goal is to respect the environment through recycling. These containers are made from recycled bottles.

These glass containers are extra special to us and hard to come by, that’s why we are offering a 10% discount on refills. So why not try all of our fragrances and reuse your container. We are looking for a mold for some of our candles, so you can order refills to put into your container so you won't have to ship your containers back. We can all do our part to reduce, reuse and recycle. We will be sure to refill the same container you send to us. We are the only company that covers your postage for sending your containers back.

Burn Times

Burn times are approximate and not guaranteed. Some fragrances are heavier than others, and may affect the burn time. Also, if you don’t trim your wicks or you allow your candles to burn over 4 hours at a time, the candles will burn down faster. Follow the instructions on the label or on our FAQ page.

How We Tested The Burn Times

The striped and ecology containers were tested on top of our fireplace mantle, a typical place where someone would place a candle, not near a window, but our A/C unit is going on and off at different times, out of the reach of children of course. The tests were done on unscented & dye-free wax. They burned 32 & 35 hours. The Striped container burned a few hours longer because it is slightly larger than the ecology container. Depending on your fragrance and dye, we don’t know how long *your* candle will last unless we actually test all 100 fragrances and 27 colors in each container at different fragrance/dye strengths, impossible right?. The burn hours on one jar were recorded at 5.45, 3.25, 4.30, 2.55, 3.00, 6.00, 3.00, 4.45. As you may note, some of these burn times go beyond the recommendations, and this size candle will burn to the edges in just 1-1/2 to 2 hours. This candle could have lasted longer if it had been burned a couple of hours at a time. But, we wanted to show the result of a typical person who doesn’t follow directions, and wants to enjoy a candle with no maintenance. So during these burn times, the wicks were only trimmed upon relighting, and we burned all the way to the bottom leaving about 1/4” of wax, where the wick finally put itself out. This is how we came up with our burn times. At the 2nd lighting we had to position the wick to one side that was not melting during the first lighting. After that the candle burned cleanly the rest of the way. Soy wax doesn’t get very hot, and may need some help getting started at the top of the container where it cannot hold heat inside the container yet. If you have any trouble, you can try a candle capper to help regulate the heat inside the container. If your wick looks like it's going to drown, empty out some of the wax. The 3-wick bowl will not last as long as the 5 oz. container. 3 Wicks burn down faster than one wick, and this container is 1 inch shorter. 3-Wick candles have more fragrance throw because they have a larger diameter melt pool. They do not come with lids. I tested this container with one large wick and created a tunnel down the middle and a lot of wasted wax. Then I tried 2 wicks and got a figure 8 with a lot of wasted wax. 3 seems to be the right formula. Carefully select your fragrance strength, because heavy fragrance in this size is powerful! The 16 ounce jar will burn to the edges in just one hour with the two wicks. We want your candle to last longer, so we've decided to use only one of our thickest wicks. We recommend using a candle capper so it will burn cleanly down the edges. The test burns ranged from 1.4 hours up to 8.35 hours and all hours in between. Remember, if you don’t trim your wicks you will decrease your burn time, cause sooting, lose your wicks in the melt pool or crack the glass.
