Mason Jar Candles

Allow jar candles to burn to the edges of the jar, put the candle out at this point, wait for the wax to harden, trim the wick 1/8”-1/4” inch. I usually trim them to 1/8” at the beginning of every relight. If you turn off the candle after the melted wax reaches the edges, the candle has to start a new wax pool each time, this means longer lasting candles. Do not allow the candle to liquify to the bottom!!! Your wick may move or float. There is a foam sticker to keep the wick from moving when it was first poured. It could come loose and float or it could slide to one side of the jar and crack the glass. If you want to burn the candle all the way down to nothing, it is at your own risk, so keep an eye on it during those last hours, or use a candle warmer to use up the remaining fragrance in the wax. The wax consumes faster when there is a continual wax pool burning for hours on end. If you trim the wick regularly you’ll also have longer burn times than if you don’t trim the wicks. Too much heat could also crack the glass, so please keep your wicks trimmed. Also, if you allow your candle to burn too long your wicks have the potential to tip over and drown in the wax, which is another reason to turn off the candle when the melt pool reaches the edges. A candle burning 8 hours or longer at a time will not last as long as a candle burned 2-4 hours each time. Large candles are not sold wickless, due to their inability to fully liquify. Only our baby food jar candles come with the wickless option.
